Philly & DC Trip 2011

Let's see some more history! We snagged tickets for the Independence Hall tour (the clock tower is being renovated at the moment), went through the Franklin House, and all that good historical stuff.

Okay, back to food! It's the Franklin Fountain, a must-do that I believe was inspired by a Travel Channel show.

Our selections: Jeanne's sundae is in the back, and I don't remember exactly what she ordered. The front is the Stock Market Crunch, with rocky road, peanut butter & pretzels. Preston opted for the coffee-laden Lightning Rod, not pictured here.

After our delightfully light snack (ha!) we popped around the corner to the Book Trader. My aunt Jeanne always digs a funky book store... more on that later...

My theatre queen posing in her section of choice. :)

Nice doggy... nice doggy... statue. He was guarding the top of the stairs.

There's nothing Beethoven loves more... than the Backstreet Boys. And that dude playing the trumpet. Him too. You heard it here first.

Over at Christ Church, Preston and I pretend to listen to a sermon whilst sitting in what I believe was the pew of George Washington & family.

Diane also listens to the invisible preacher preach a non-existent sermon.

These were bought because no one in our group had ever tried a knish. We should've continued on never having tried a knish. These were rather cold and "end-of-day" icky.

Part one of our shared dinner secured from the Market was this cheesesteak. Not one of the more shining examples, I must say.

Part two of our shared dinner was this gyro plate. Decent.
