Cruise 2011 Page 2 of 6 Carnival Pride • At Sea Day 2: Monday, January 2, 2012. Breakfast took place around 9:00am on the Lido deck, which was festooned with naked mermaids on the ceiling, among other things. After breakfast, we spent some time out in the chilly air of the adults-only Serenity area. A view from the stern of the ship, churning up the already-turning-turquoise waters. Back inside, we decided to walk through the onboard shops then chill for a while near the coffee bar, which is where we found this symbol of Carnival's ongoing effort to embrace multi-culturalism. And stuff. Forgetting how chilly it had been in the Serenity area, we decided to give it another go, and found these nifty big, round chairs! We headed up to a 12:30pm cooking demonstration at David's Steakhouse, an onboard specialty restaurant featuring a larger-than-life anatomically correct statue of David. The statue did get photographed, but those photographs will not be appearing here. No. We passed the ice-carving demonstration, where a huge block of ice was transformed into a huge Native American head. Afterward was lunch on Lido and much chilling on the Promenade Deck before heading to the room to prepare for formal night and dinner. Hey, it's me and Diane. We're dressed up! Ready to eat! Yay!!! Emily and Dennis, all dressed up, with Dennis in his infamous Barney Stinson pose that always makes him look great in any photo. After dinner, our friendly doggie towel was waiting, with our Capers and chocolate mints. What's that? You didn't get an invite to the past-guest party? What. A. Shame. More party for us!!! :p We decided to give karaoke a whirl in the Starry Night lounge, and here we have Dennis with his rendition of Weird Al's "Grapefruit Diet". Woot woot! After eyeing them for several cruises, I decided the time was right to pounce on the Carnival funnel souvenir cup deal! There were none to be had at the Lobby Bar, so we headed to Lido aft and struck gold! Diane enjoys a bevvie before we grabbed pizza and ice-cream and headed back to the room around 11:00pm to turn in. * Continue the Cruise Adventure... * Return to the Photos page!
