On our way to Hatteras, we stopped at the Bodie Island Lighthouse in south Nags Head. |

And of course, no visit to Hatteras would be complete without a stop at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. |

The next day, we decided to take the ferry to Ocracoke Island, home of the legendary pirate Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. |

I decided to get into the part a little at the Teach's Hole learning center. |

Of course, we had to complete the circuit of mid-Outer Banks lighthouses with a stop at the Ocracoke Lighthouse. I did discover that if you blink, you can easily miss the turnoff and parking (ha ha!) area. |
