Cruise 2005

Welcome to the Carnival Victory!
From December 4-11, 2005, Diane and I finally went on our honeymoon cruise... the Carnival Victory's 7-Night Western Caribbean loop out of Miami, visiting Costa Maya (Mexico), Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios (Jamaica).

Upon boarding the ship, Diane and I dropped our carry-on bags in our cabin, then headed to the Lido Deck to eat and look around. After enjoying a burger at the Mississippi BBQ Restaurant, I took this shot from the windows at the back of the ship, showing the Carnival Valor in port, and downtown Miami.

One of several shots taken of ourselves, this time sitting at the bar in the Seven Seas Lobby. It's hard to get shots of both of you when you don't know anyone else on the ship, but that problem would soon be solved...

Time to set sail from Miami! Diane and I found some deck chairs on the nearly deserted Deck 3, Lobby Deck. We camped out here and enjoyed the warm breeze for the sail-away.

Back out on the Lobby Deck, Diane poses against the great Atlantic Ocean.

With those ocean winds whipping our hair into wacky shapes, I pose for the same.

Jealous of the fact that I'd just won $25 on the slot machines in the casino, this neon orange octopus attacked me outside the entrance to the video arcade.

Inside the video arcade, Diane showcases this large, blue & purple striped fish.

During the Welcome Show the night before, I was pulled onstage by Monica, a social host, to play a bizarre game involving a spoon on a piece of string. Probably 90% of the people on the ship were in attendance, plus they ran the footage on the cabin televisions all week, so everyone kept recognizing Diane & I as "the honeymooners". This picture was taken by just such a lady, while we were enjoying our virgin pina colada smoothies at the Triton Bar.

Diane and I all dressed up for dinner that evening. In this picture, I'm wearing my most expensive tie... yeah, the joke went over better at dinner...
